L'histoire : Les années 1980, dans le nord de la France. Jackie et Clotaire grandissent entre les bancs du lycée et les docks du port. Elle étudie, il traine. Et puis leurs destins se croisent et c'est l'amour fou. La vie s'efforcera de les séparer mais rien n'y fait, ces deux-là sont comme les deux ventricules du même cœur...

Notre avis : Après "Le Grand bain", Gilles Lellouche confirme qu'il est un formidable réalisateur et directeur d'acteurs, qui excellent tous dans les personnes qui leurs sont donnés à jouer. Adapté du roman de l’Irlandais Neville Thompson, il met en avant ceux que la société traite de perdants, ils y gagnent le meilleur, la grandeur du cœur. Il mélange les genres avec adresse, une œuvre riche et généreuse... Il entremêle une romance puissante et film de gangsters. Un montage fortement efficace, plein de surprises et une mise en scène soignée, complétement ouf, avec de belles idées visuelles. Il y a des instants de grâce dans ce grand chaos romanesque, de la passion et une fougue contagieuse, qui laisse notre cœur se noyer dans cette histoire d'amour passionnel et électrique. Une bande musicale aussi éclectique que percutante. Quelques réserves seulement sur les scènes de violence, qui le sont peut-être un peu trop à mon goût. Le film montre une grande générosité et une certaine audace, ça fait plaisir tout de même ! Un film qui aime le cinéma, lui rend hommage et qui donne envie d’aimer. Gérard Chargé - 3 Zooms -
