L'histoire : Après 5 ans de prison, un jeune autiste, retourne à Reno travailler à l'hôtel El Cortez. Il se lie d'amitié avec un prospecteur estropié qui cherche son aide pour persuader un joueur prospère d'investir dans sa mine d'or. Mais, traqué par le flic tenace qui l'avait arrêté, il ne peut échapper à son passé...
